I Want to Believe --- Part 1

Hold onto your hats ladies and gents --  this one is wild.

This story starts off as most crazy, awesome stories do -- with two drunk people.

John and I had been hanging out with a friend of mine at a bar with 1$ drafts. So we were feeling pretty good. It was 2:30 in the morning and Sunday. We both were looking forward to two glorious days off of work and I wanted to DO something.

"I've never been out of the state of Texas," John said.

And from that one statement a half-baked, but totally awesome plan, was born.

"Well, where do you want to go?" I asked him.
"Denver."
"We'll sleep and go tomorrow."

We woke up at 10:00 am and after filling up we actually thought to look at a Google Map of how far Denver actually is.

14 Hours and 41 Minutes.
No longer feeling the fuzzy beer bubbles bursting in our brains we decided that Denver was probably a bit too far.

"New Mexico!"
"Albuquerque!"

10 Hours 54 Minutes.

We figured that 11 hours would be doable. And so we headed on our way.

We He drove.

And drove.

And drove.

Until we made it out of Texas.

After stopping a few places to stretch our legs and fill up the tank, we ended up in Roswell, New Mexico.

7 Hours and 47 Minutes.

Hungry, tired of sitting, and after realizing we might be short on cash we decided that Roswell, New Mexico was a fine place to stay for a mini vacation.

And even though it wasn't our original destination, it was absolutely perfect.
