Another year come and gone, where resolutions were made and eventually forgotten.
Hey, it happens.
But since it's now 2015, the start of another great year, it's the perfect time to make some new wishes, hopes, and goals.
Save money.
So that one day I might be able to swim in a sea of gold coins. |
Take a Trip.

Fix Up Our Lawn/Start a Garden.
I started out planting two rose bushes that my grandma had given me. One actually bloomed! But then we got Boyboy and his favorite spot to lie in became the wet earth around the bushes. Needless to say, they were soon uprooted. Thinking that maybe I should start inside the house, I bought living basil and was hoping to turn it into a bush that I would be able to get fresh basil from on a regular basis. It died within two days. Then John bought me a beautiful mum plant. They're supposed to be hardy and the colors are gorgeous. It has since passed away. Hopefully in 2015 I'll be able to dedicate more time to gardening and fixing up our lawn. We actually have really good soil - it just needs a little T.L.C.

Keep Up and Get More Followers on the Blog
Right before 2014 ended, I got my own domain name. So you might have noticed that the blogspot was dropped from my URL. I think that was a great first step in the right direction of keeping up and devoting more time to the blog. I did a pretty OK job of writing on the blog consistently as well as writing about different topics. But I did notice that I let a lot of ideas, projects, reviews, and recipes slip through my fingers. I also want to feature more of John's projects on here. He loves working with his hands and has refinished a rocking bench and made our doggies a house. His work deserves some recognition too. I'm still trying to figure all of the bloggy stuff out but I'm hoping that this year I'll get an even more variety of topics up and delve into more of my everyday life. And hopefully people will like it.
Create More
I know that I've only offhandedly mentioned that I cross-stitch and sew but I do hope that this year will allow me more time to create things. I'm constantly pinning home DIYs to my Pinterest boards or looking up sewing tutorials on YouTube. From throw pillows to infinity scarves I plan to create more this year.
These wishes are actually looking doable which makes me happy. The feeling of being able to cross them off the list next year and say that I kept up with them will feel great.
Do you have any goals, resolutions, wishes, or hopes for 2015?
I love that you have a couples bucket list :3 hehe.
ReplyDeleteDenver is beautiful. You'd love New Orleans. I haven't been to Maine yet but everyone I know who's visited claims its one of the most beautiful states in the US.
This year, I'd love to learn how to make my own clothes, read music, cook a variety of things (hah), and develop a greener thumb so I can follow in the steps of my ancestors.
I've always wanted to visit Colorado! <3 I've also heard that Maine is absolutely beautiful, and it's kinda hard to restrain myself from setting up a couple rotations there just so I'll have an excuse to visit! :x
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to you on your goals for the year! :D
Great goals!! I definitely want to start cooking and baking more too!!
ReplyDeleteI like that you call them "Wishes." Maybe I should start calling my goals wishes as well, because let's be real, I probably don't finish all my goals! I would love to start cooking more as well. My boyfriend complained offhandedly the other day that all we ate this year was pancakes and pasta, so I guess that means I need to up my cooking repertoire!
ReplyDeleteSewing my own clothes is one of my life goals. I tried making a skirt a few months ago and it came out horribly...but it's still fun.
ReplyDeleteAll of your goals for this year sound doable and amazing.
I've been to Colorado before and it was lovely! I wish I had a work excuse to travel that would be the best.
ReplyDeletePasta is one of my favorite/easiest things to cook. We eat it a lot around here too.
ReplyDeleteGoals seem more concrete and I just...can't commit. Lol. I have other goals, real goals...but making everything a goal overwhelms me.
I found that the more I do it, the more I love doing it. It's so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI love these wishes, and I have a lot of the same ones. Saving money definitely. I don't know why it's always been so hard for me. I'm not a big shopper or anything. I just like to buy food! I think that's my main problem. Congrats on your domain name! That's so awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your awesomeness in 2015, and what a great idea to feature some of John's work on here too! I hope you get to take a trip together and cross some things off of your Couple's Bucket List! Jon and I still need to make one of those.
ReplyDeleteUgh. MOOONEY. Most of ours goes to bills and other debts unfortunately. We're trying to get everything paid off as quickly as possible. Maybe something you do will help us with our budget as well. I can't wait to see what you and Jon would put on your Couple's Bucket List.
