With a pit-stop at Buc-ee's. |
Shiner, The Cleanest Little City in Texas, is about two hours away. We got an early start and arrived with a bit of extra time before the 11am tour started.
Our tour guide, Anne was great. She was so knowledgeable and friendly.
This year was the first year they were open for touring on the Fourth of July and they also had just started letting people take pictures of the brewery. (Which I took full advantage of).
After the tour we decided to check out Shiner....but there wasn't really anything else to see. So we ended up at this really cool antique/art place called Antiques, Art, and Beer that had over 170 beers. Including all the Shiners that have long ago seen the sun.
In keeping with Robert's martini experiment he got what was called at "Hot Blonde".
Shiner Blonde + Jalapeno Stuffed Olives. |
Then before we started back we ate at Friday's.
So, even if you can't visit the brewery, sit back, relax and enjoy.
Prosit!
